Biography:
Sirius Black, a pivotal character in the Harry Potter series, was born into the aristocratic and prejudiced Black family. Rebelling against his family's dark arts obsession and pure-blood supremacy ideology, he was sorted into Gryffindor House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
At Hogwarts, he became best friends with James Potter, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew, collectively known as the Marauders. They created the Marauder's Map and became unregistered Animagi to support Lupin during his werewolf transformations. Sirius's Animagus form was a large black dog, giving him the nickname "Padfoot."
Wrongfully accused of betraying James and Lily Potter to Lord Voldemort and murdering Peter Pettigrew, Sirius spent twelve years in Azkaban prison. He escaped, maintaining his innocence and seeking to protect Harry Potter.
After escaping Azkaban, Sirius became Harry's godfather and a crucial member of the Order of the Phoenix, fighting against Voldemort. He died at the Department of Mysteries, struck by a curse from his cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange, leaving a profound impact on Harry's life.
